YOU JUST ENTERTAIN BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS? WHAT ABOUT CANCER AWARENESS AND ALL THAT?
I'm very much concerned about cancer prevention, detection and survival and I address those issues constantly in the many magazine and blog articles I post weekly. You'll find my writing in COPING, CURE, CANCER SURVIVORS THRIVE, HUFFINGTON POST and on many web sites such as THE ANTI-CANCER CLUB, PINC-TV, BLOG FOR A CURE, THE MALE BREAST CANCER COALITION and others. Cancer conventions are filled to the brim with information about treatment and recovery. My job is to bring 45 minutes of humor, laughter, insight, inspiration and fun, to give our minds a much needed break. I'm very clear about my purpose and my work on stage, and I'm fully dedicated to contributing in this way.
SOUNDS GOOD , BUT WHAT DOES ALL OF THIS COST?
I am comfortable with talking pricing and working out a good program for your group, large or small. You can get an estimate by checking on a round-trip airline ticket from Tucson Arizona to the place where your event will be staged. Add two nights lodging. I ALWAYS arrive the day before an event to avoid any airline or other travel snafu's that may arise (and they do). Other than that we can settle on a flat fee for my program in accordance with your budget and the size of your group. Folks are often surprised by how affordable a professional program --which is connected to and inspired by a positive cause--can actually be!
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING THIS SORT OF THING?
My bio is on this web site but here are some quick facts about me. I'm in my late 60's and have been working on stage for 40 years. I've performed in many countries and for many venues--primarily as a comedy stage magician with a theme of Natural History and Environmental Awareness. I was diagnosed with male breast cancer in May of 2014 while living for a year as a resident in a Zen Center in Honolulu Hawaii. The moment I awakened from my mastectomy surgery I knew that my mission and purpose was to work with cancer groups. For a number of years I had been visiting KIDS WITH CANCER camps and performing for them. Suddenly, I was one of them!
YOU ALSO ENTERTAIN AS A MUSICIAN?
Yes! Music is my passion. I'm a 5-string banjo player (talk about happy music!) and I do a bit of music in my cancer talks. I can also provide some musical entertainment for your event at a reception, meet and greet or any other gathering that needs a little fun inserted!
